Making the most of your visit to Manchester

The vibrant city centre of Manchester is just 2 miles from the National Speedway Stadium. On racedays, gates open at 5pm, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the many things Manchester has to offer. From visitor attractions to restaurant and bars, there’s plenty to be enjoyed in Manchester before the racing. To plan your weekend, we recommend a visit to www.visitmanchester.com

Getting to the NSS (late parking advise)

If you are staying in Manchester City Centre, we recommend leaving your vehicle in the City and travelling by public transport. Car parking is limited at the stadium. If you haven’t booked parking close to the stadium and wish to bring your car, then we recommend you visit some reputable parking website, these would include:

https://www.yourparkingspace.co.uk/

https://www.justpark.com/

 Fan Zone

The official fan zone is a must visit for anyone attending the Manchester SGPs. It’s a chance to soak in the atmosphere and meet your favourite riders before racing begins. It’s open each day to fans who hold a ticket for the event. The fan zone will be located on the top pitch behind the East Grandstand (same location as Speedway of Nations) and will be open from 3pm on Friday and Saturday. For East Stand ticket holders, the fan zone will remain open for bars, catering and big screen action during racing.

 Turnstile opening times each day

Turnstiles will open to ticket holders at 5pm on each day. Racing will commence on Friday 13th & Saturday 14th at 7pm.

 Security

The safety and security of visitors attending the Manchester Speedway Grand Prix is of our high priority. For that reason, please be patient and allow plenty of time to get into the stadium as bag searching and physical ticketing checks will be in operation. Our recommendation on bag size is the maximum of a small backpack no bigger than 45cm x 36cm x 20cm. To avoid delays and to ensure swift pass of security, please adhere to these maximum bag sizes and see below on prohibited items.

Anyone found in possession of an invalid ticket will be denied access to the stadium.

 Programmes

Programmes will be available to purchase from the following locations in each enclosure. If you're pre-purchased your programme, please provide your programme ticket for scanning at the collection locations highlighted in yellow below.

North Grandstand – Box Office, Merchandise Shop, Hospitality Reception, Beer stand

South Grandstand – Programme desk before entry, Merchandise Shop in Kiosk.

East Grandstand – The catering Kiosk in the fan zone (accessible for East Grandstand ticket holders during racing and before). 4th bend bar.

 Planning for the elements

To ensure your visit is as enjoyable as possible, check the weather forecast regularly and prepare accordingly. As organisers, we’ll be doing the same. If the weather forecast is unpredictable, umbrellas as recommended to keep dry whilst waiting for racing. We do hope the British Summer will be at its glorious best and you will need to be packing a hat and sun screen!
