BELLE VUE boss Mark Lemon wants a “show of strength” from his side as they return to action in Manchester.
The ATPI Aces take on King’s Lynn in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership at the National Speedway Stadium on Monday night (7.30pm).
It’s almost a month since they last raced a team meeting at home with the huge win over Oxford.
In that period there have been two disappointing defeats at Birmingham and Leicester, both without captain Brady Kurtz.
But the Australian, fresh from his first-ever Grand Prix win in Gorzow, is back in action for the ATPI Aces.
Lemon said: “It does feel like we need a good strong victory to get our season going again.
“Hosting the two British Grand Prix events was always going to mean a break in team action. But the rained-off meeting the week before obviously meant an extended time away from Manchester for the boys.
“Now we are truly into the second half of the campaign and we need to kick on.
“We are back to a full side for the first time in a while and I’d like a real show of strength.
“Brady and Dan (Bewley) have been fantastic in the Grand Prix series with two wins in eight days. Dan also won the Sprint Race in Gorzow, so it was a double for the ATPI Aces.
“We are very proud to have them both at Belle Vue. They have done so much for this club and brought us trophies over the past few years. Let’s hope 2025 can be another good one for us.
“It’s a tricky fixture against the Stars. They’ve hit some good form recently and are becoming a threat for a top four place. We cannot afford any slip-ups.
“I think we’ve missed having the home meetings to give all the boys that bit of belief from scoring well in Manchester.
“It’s important that we put on a show for our fans and get some vital points on the board.”
