BELLE Vue look to make it two wins out of two in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership when they host newcomers Northampton in a midday Bank Holiday Monday showdown.
The ATPI Aces won their opening league match against Ipswich a fortnight ago, and now they take on the Foxes who arrive with two former Belle Vue heat leaders in their ranks.
Jamon Lidsey races at No.1 for the visitors having made the move to Northampton when he was unable to be accommodated in Manchester due to the points limit, and the former World Under-21 Champion has made a strong start with his new club.
Also assured of a warm welcome is Slovenian star Matej Zagar, a title winner with the Aces in 2022, who joined the Foxes along with team manager Chris Adams after being with Birmingham last year.
Belle Vue are forced into a change with Peter Kildemand ruled out after a crash at Edinburgh on Friday left him with concussion and a broken collarbone.
In his absence, the Aces have called up Sheffield’s Leon Flint to guest in the No.3 position.
Northampton, who raced their first home meeting in front of a huge crowd last Thursday, are still without Niels-Kristian Iversen who suffered a punctured lung in a crash back in mid-March.
Although he is now back racing on the continent, Iversen has been advised not to fly, and on that basis the Foxes are restricted to a reduced facility of 75 per cent of Iversen’s average. Former Aces rider Jye Etheridge, now with Sheffield fills that spot for the visitors.
Belle Vue skipper Brady Kurtz said: “It’s cool to see Northampton up and running – and they’ve made a decent start by all accounts.
“I saw a few clips of the track there too last week and it looks nice. It will be interesting to ride there in July.
“The Foxes have riders who go well here; we know what Jaymo can do especially. Matej is popular here too and knows the fastest way around so we can’t be complacent.”
Tickets and Bank Holiday dining options are available from https://www.bellevue-speedway.com/tickets , and for those supporters unable to attend, the meeting will be live streamed at https://www.bvtv.live/ .
