BELLE VUE’S title winning captain Brady Kurtz has capped off another outstanding season by being named the club’s Rider of the Year.

The sensational achievements of the ATPI Aces during 2026 were recognised at the end-of-season awards party, The Maugers, on Saturday.

Kurtz is now a three-time Premiership winner with Belle Vue, leading the side to glory at a packed National Speedway Stadium in the recent decider against Sheffield.

Not only was the Australian confirmed as Rider of the Year, he also took the award as Top Points Scorer (261 points +12 bonus), and was also voted Fans’ Rider of the Year by Belle Vue Speedway Supporters’ Club.

The Team Manager’s Rider of the Year selected by Aces boss Mark Lemon went to fast-improving Australian star Tate Zischke whose second Premiership season saw him play a vital role at reserve.

Meanwhile the Team Man of the Year award was won by Jason Doyle, who slotted perfectly into the side as an injury replacement and proved a superb influence both on track and in the pits.

Various trophies at The Maugers are named after club legends as the Aces show respect to their proud history, with Chris Morton’s name on Top Points Scorer, Dent Oliver on Team Manager’s Rider of the Year, and Alan Wilkinson on Team Man of the Year.

Three other special presentations were made to highlight all aspects of the Belle Vue club, who are firmly established at the forefront of the sport.

The Clubman Award, named after Steve Casey, was handed to Jack Lee, whilst racenight announcer Neil Drummond was handed the Volunteers’ Award, named after Ron Lowe.

Achievements outside of the Aces were also marked as Kurtz and Doyle received the Excellence Award, named after Ivan Mauger, for their part in Australia’s successful Speedway World Cup winning team as they struck gold in Warsaw back in August.

Whilst the Aces are now off the track for the next four months, the hard work continues with team planning for 2027 taking place, and announcements will follow as the club prepares for their title defence.
