BELLE Vue kick off a big week on the road with a second trip of the season to King’s Lynn in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership on Monday (7.30pm).
The ATPI Aces are four points clear of Leicester at the top of the table and they have the opportunity to extend that if they can repeat their mid-May victory at the Adrian Flux Arena.
That would then set things up for an interesting top-two showdown on Thursday when the Aces travel to Leicester.
The first job though is in Norfolk, and Aces boss Mark Lemon is boosted by the news that he can field a full-strength side.
Jason Doyle and Peter Kildemand both missed last Monday’s home win over Northampton, but both are fit to take their places in this fixture with Kildemand having scored double figures in the Championship at the weekend.
Elsewhere, youngster Will Cairns underlined his superb form at present with a maximum 12 points from his first four rides in Poole’s Championship win at Workington on Saturday.
And with his Aces results also enjoying a significant upturn, as demonstrated at the NSS last week, Cairns is highly confident of further progress in their title challenge.
He said: “We’re good at home, and we’re good away! I feel like all the boys are starting to click now, including me – the penny has dropped and it’s going well.
“We’re not quite as strong away as we are at home, and I play a part in that because a few of these tracks I’ve never even ridden - or I’ve ridden them and it’s completely different in a Premiership meeting to a National League meeting.
“So we’ve definitely got work to do on the road, but I think if we continue thrashing teams at home it gives us a nice big lead and breathing room for sure.”
King’s Lynn go into Monday’s meeting holding the fourth and final play-off place, largely thanks to a superb win at Sheffield recently, but they did go down 51-39 at Leicester on Thursday.
The Stars’ home form this season has been wildly inconsistent, and even as recently as this month they slammed Ipswich to take the aggregate point, but were then held to a draw by basement club Northampton just four nights later.
But with former Aces star Max Fricke at No.1 and plenty of talent elsewhere including 16-year-old Cooper Rushen now in the main body of the side, it’s likely to be a tougher test than the one the Aces faced in May.
KING’S LYNN: Max Fricke, Jan Kvech, Chris Harris, Cooper Rushen, Ben Cook, Jordan Jenkins, Jody Scott.
BELLE VUE: Brady Kurtz, Norick Blodorn, Peter Kildemand, Zach Cook, Jason Doyle, Tate Zischke, Will Cairns.
