GREMLINS FOR ACES

BELLE VUE boss Mark Lemon admits that bike issues cost his side in the defeat at King’s Lynn.

The ATPI Aces went down by 50-40 in their last regular ROWE Motor Oil Premiership fixture of the season in Norfolk.

Lemon’s side were dogged by mechanical gremlins which blighted the performance.

He revealed: “We just didn’t get the rub of the green. Jaimon (Lidsey), Dan (Bewley) and Brady (Kurtz) all had bike troubles.

“You can take a hit for a couple of mechanical issues but to have five and all end up pointless scores, it’s going to hurt you.

“That’s speedway. It’s disappointing to not finish the league campaign with a win which was within our grasp for most of the meeting.

“It was quite frustrating because we twice fought back from behind and battled hard only to suffer mechanical problems.

“There were some positive signs. Jake (Mulford) and Tate (Zischke) both rode really well. It’s probably the best meeting I’ve seen Tate ride away from home. He was on the pace all night and picked up some crucial points.

“Norick (Blodorn) changed his set-up and finished the meeting in a strong way.

“It will be a vital element to the end of the season if those guys can find their best form going into the play-offs.”
