BELLE VUE skipper Brady Kurtz insists there will be no premature celebrations as the club stand on the brink of another ROWE Motor Oil Premiership title.
The ATPI Aces face rivals Sheffield on Friday (7.30pm) in what is set to be a massive meeting at the National Speedway Stadium after a superb performance at Owlerton in the first leg.
Belle Vue will take a four-point lead into the meeting following their 47-43 win in South Yorkshire earlier this week, anchored by 14 points from Kurtz and 12+2 from Jason Doyle, as they combined for crucial 5-1s in Heats 13 and 15.
But Kurtz has pointed to the play-off drama which has taken place elsewhere in 2026 as proof that the job is nowhere near done yet.
He said: “The main thing is not to get carried away. We’re only four points up, and that can be gone in Heat 1.
“All over the world what we’ve seen in the play-offs this year is absolutely mental stuff going on, so we are far, far away from winning it yet.
“We need to turn up on Friday, mean business like we always do at home, and try and get this done.
“It’s been a long season and we’re at the pointy end now, and we all really wanted to get past Monday so we can look forward to the home leg which will be a bit nicer for us.”
With Peter Kildemand’s broken wrist having been confirmed, the Aces will bring in fellow Dane Nicolai Klindt as a guest on Friday.
Ticket sales for the meeting are running at an extremely high level, and the club strongly advises supporters to book online in advance to avoid disappointment.
As of Wednesday morning, less than 100 tickets remain in the North Grandstand. For all tickets and hospitality, please visit: https://www.bellevue-speedway.com/tickets .
