ATPI ACES v KING’S LYNN, PREVIEW
    Belle Vue Press Office

BELLE Vue look to extend their impressive home record when they face former skipper Max Fricke and his King’s Lynn side at the National Speedway Stadium on Monday (7.30pm).

The ATPI Aces have been sensational on their own circuit in recent weeks, registering scores of 61 and 62 points against Leicester and Ipswich respectively in their previous two outings in Manchester.

They also produced a display of great determination in adversity at Foxhall last Thursday where they collected a precious aggregate point thanks to a late comeback with 5-1s in Heats 13 and 15, whilst Norick Blodorn went through the pain barrier after an earlier crash as he and Will Cairns vitally ensured a 3-3 in Heat 14.

It all leaves the ATPI Aces three points clear at the top of the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership table as they go into the clash with the fifth-placed Stars, with another aggregate point available.

Any win on the night will see Belle Vue add three points to their total as they recorded an excellent 49-41 victory in Norfolk in the reverse fixture last month.

And they are set to go into the meeting with a full one-to-seven, as Blodorn showed no ill effects in Poland on Friday and Jason Doyle also made his comeback for Krosno at the weekend, scoring double figures despite a further fall when he was collected by his team-mate.

King’s Lynn made headlines over the winter with the signing of Fricke, who had spent three years with Leicester following his departure from Belle Vue.

The Australian remains a top Premiership performer and was a popular winner of the first of this season’s Manchester GP double header earlier this month.

The Stars include another rider who appeared in those GPs, Czech racer Jan Kvech, along with a second recent former Ace in Ben Cook, along with the evergreen Chris Harris who rode for the club back in 2011 and made such a strong guest appearance at Ipswich.

The visitors have made a team change in the last week with Jordan Jenkins coming into the side in place of Paco Castagna, and he lines up at reserve.

Aces manager Mark Lemon said: “Our recent run of home performances has been extremely pleasing. The atmosphere around the club is excellent, the riders are full of confidence, and we’ve shown exactly what this team is capable of when everyone works together.

“King’s Lynn have assembled a competitive side, and despite recent results we know they possess the quality to cause any team problems on their day. We certainly won’t be taking anything for granted.

“The table remains incredibly competitive and there is very little margin for error. Maintaining our excellent home form will be crucial if we are to achieve our ambitions, and this represents another opportunity to strengthen our position.”

Tickets and hospitality for the meeting are available from https://www.bellevue-speedway.com/tickets . For those unable to attend, the meeting will be live streamed on BVTV, available from https://www.bvtv.live/ .

BELLE VUE: Brady Kurtz, Norick Blodorn, Peter Kildemand, Zach Cook, Jason Doyle, Tate Zischke, Will Cairns.

KING’S LYNN: Max Fricke, Chris Harris, Ben Cook, Cooper Rushen, Jan Kvech, Jordan Jenkins, Jody Scott.
