    ATPI ACES v IPSWICH, PREVIEW
    Belle Vue Press Office

BELLE Vue will be without recent signing Jason Doyle for their ROWE Motor Oil Premiership clash with Ipswich on Monday (7.30pm).

Doyle has been ruled out of a reunion with his former club at the National Speedway Stadium after an horrific crash during Heat 7 of the Wroclaw Grand Prix on Saturday, which also involved in his Australian team-mate Jack Holder and Polish rider Kacper Woryna who was uninjured.

ATPI Aces newcomer Doyle has avoided any broken bones but is generally battered and bruised and will face a period on the sidelines. The unlucky Holder, who rides for Sheffield, has suffered a broken arm and we extend our best wishes to him.

Aces manager Mark Lemon has been considering his options for Monday’s meeting, which are to either use a guest subject to availability, or the rider replacement facility.

Elsewhere, the Aces will field their regular line-up including Rising Star Will Cairns who was an impressive winner of his European Under-19 semi-final at Debrecen on Saturday.

Skipper Brady Kurtz returns to domestic action after a fourth-place finish at Wroclaw – a somewhat frustrating result given that he caught and emphatically passed his World title rival Bartosz Zmarzlik in their qualifying races, only for Zmarzlik to turn the tables in the Final and regain the overall lead as Kurtz was relegated to fourth place.

Ipswich make the trip to the NSS having built a solid home record so far this season, and their last appearance in Manchester saw them race into an early lead before the Aces pegged things back and won the meeting.

Their opening combination of former Belle Vue rider Tom Brennan and Danny King has proved particularly strong so far this season, and they also have one of the league’s strongest Rising Stars in Jason Edwards.

Lemon said: “Doyle is badly beaten up after the crash. I spoke to him on Sunday morning and it was a relief to discover there are no fractures, because we were all concerned especially after previous injuries, but he needs rest before we assess when he can return.

“The last time Ipswich were here we made a slow start and found ourselves eight points down after five races.

“Thankfully we were able to regroup, turn things around and record a good win in the end, but I would much rather we start the meeting as we did against Leicester and build pressure from the very first heat.”

BELLE VUE: Brady Kurtz, Norick Blodorn, Peter Kildemand, Zach Cook, Jason Doyle (Guest or R/R), Tate Zischke, Will Cairns.

IPSWICH: Tom Brennan, Danny King, Richard Lawson, Scott Nicholls, Tobiasz Musielak, Philip Hellstrom-Bangs, Jason Edwards.
