BELLE VUE boss Mark Lemon admits he is proud that the club hosted ‘the greatest-ever British Final’.
The ATPI Aces chief was delighted to see the final epic clash at the National Speedway Stadium between eventual winner Robert Lambert, Charles Wright, Dan Bewley and Chris Harris go viral overnight.
Fans have flooded social media over the TNT Sports coverage which saw 17 passes in just a minute with all four riders in front at one stage.
It has been dubbed by most speedway fans as the greatest-ever British Final and by some the greatest race ever.
Lemon said: “We all know what the National Speedway Stadium can serve up week after week.
“But last night's action was outstanding. The racing was sensational and the icing on the cake was that epic final.
“People may have had complaints about Belle Vue hosting the event the previous day or so. But the National Speedway Stadium is the best track in the world.
“Now our focus turns to the first-ever ATPI FIM Manchester SGPs in exactly a month on June 13 and 14.
“It is sold out for the Saturday night so only a few tickets are still available for Friday. They will be going like hot cakes with that sort of action on offer.
“We advise fans to get in quick if you want to see the first-ever SGP in Manchester.”
It also seemed fitting that Stockport’s Charles Wright won the wild card slot for both the Manchester SGPs.
Wright’s grandfather Jim Yacoby raced for the club in the late 1950s and 60s. Now Charles will compete in the most prestigious events ever held at the club.
