ACES DUO IN SWC BATTLE

BELLE Vue duo Dan Bewley and Norick Blodorn are set to meet in international competition when the Speedway World Cup gets underway next month.

Initial squads have been named for the first semi-final taking place at Landshut on Friday May 1 as hosts Germany face Great Britain, Czech Republic and Ukraine.

Bewley, naturally, will be a major part of the GB effort in a meeting which will see only the winners qualify for the Final in August.

With fellow Grand Prix regular Robert Lambert skippering the national team, the squad overall includes plenty of other Belle Vue connections with Tom Brennan, Charles Wright and former Colt Leon Flint named along with Adam Ellis and Dan Thompson.

Blodorn is part of a ten-rider German squad, although given his international track record including last season’s dramatic FIM SON2 victory in Torun, it would be a huge surprise if he did not make the final five.
