BELLE Vue star Dan Bewley is looking to make a winning start to the new season when he competes in the Peter Craven Memorial Trophy on Monday (March 16, 7pm).
The World No.3 has been a regular podium finisher in the prestigious event, but he has to go back to 2021 for the last time he took the top step.
Since then, he has finished third in both 2023 and 2025, and runner-up for the second time in 2024.
But taking victory on Monday will require getting the better of several World stars in a unique meeting climax, with six riders contesting the Final.
ATPI Aces skipper Brady Kurtz is the defending champion, having won the meeting in both of the last two seasons, with further Grand Prix representation coming from former Belle Vue captain Max Fricke, four-time PCMT winner Jason Doyle, and Swedish ace Fredrik Lindgren.
So with potential threats coming from throughout a high-class field, Bewley knows a tough night lies ahead as he looks to take the crown for the first time in five years.
Bewley said: “It’s been a while, and it’s a pretty cool trophy for the Peter Craven with the old shield, so I wouldn’t mind another!
“I’ve never been at the back of the Final, but I really don’t want to try it either!
“It’s interesting with six riders, and obviously it’s a pretty historic meeting remembering Peter Craven. It’s a pretty cool meeting to be part of.”
Tickets for the Peter Craven Memorial, which culminates in a five-rider semi-final and six-rider Final, remain on sale from: https://www.bellevue-speedway.com/tickets .
